Call for Papers for Special Issue of Southern Rural Sociology
Rural Communities and Disaster: Research from the US Gulf States and Beyond
Southern Rural Sociology invites submission for a Special Issue, “Rural Communities and Disaster: Research from the US Gulf States and Beyond,” edited by M.A. Brennan and Courtney G. Flint. The editors are seeking a broad range of topics that focus on the impacts of disaster in the rural South, community level responses to disaster preparation and recovery, and factors shaping long-term rural recovery. Manuscripts should not exceed 30 double spaced pages, plus notes and references, and should follow the SRS format requirements. Papers should be submitted via email to M.A. Brennan (brennanm@ufl.edu) or C. Flint (cflint@uiuc.edu) no later than January 30, 2007.
